Why still Rivets!

I didn’t find it necessary to stress the fact that denim was born as material for laborers uniforms, to DenimBul customers. But yet again, even without putting much effort into it, we understand that because denim is a solid fabric it had to be made as a pants. Its journey had to start from hardship… And we all know what happened afterwards… But are we witnesses of its luxurious transformations into different shapes and with which celebrities and at places it had been hanging out? Yes, we are…

I will go back to the past a little bit...

In 1870’s Jacob Davis, the tailor from Nevada, is considered the first person to find the solution for the pants of his costumers that kept ripping apart in RIVET. Back then this solution seamed very good for labor workers and miners. Jacob Davis was one step ahead of all other denim producers. He is known as the only tailor who patented rivet denim for 17 years.

After that with his orange double-needle trouser sewing he had his name written between the fathers of innovation in the industry of denim.
Big respect…

With years passing by and the quality of the materials going up, we can notice the drop in need for denim to be as solid as it ones was. In 21st century particularly, if we take away 1,3 % that is still used for laborers uniforms we can see that 98,7% is used strictly in designer purposes, which shows us that we wouldn’t be wrong if we said that denim is used as a part of nature and as one of its symbols.

We hope that #donttouchmyrivet movement won’t be necessary in our attempts to save it in today’s brutal competition and that we can develop designs good enough so that rivet wouldn’t need saving.

We would like to express our gratitude to Denhem and TRC Candian companies for bringing attention to this topic. The adventure that they started with Golden Rivet (Rivetto D’Oro) make inspirational synergy by the name of Premium Jeans is real pleasant. Hopefully, this will give inspiration to the other industry representatives and leaders for many thing that can be done together.
